Terms Of Hire

Customers agree to T&Cs whether or not they have been read & signed. A copy has been made available to you to read. By proceeding with a booking the T&Cs have been agreed to.


 

Terms & Conditions:

Terms of Hire

 

Guests are aware that hire items are NOT to be taken home under any circumstances. Any missing items will be payable by the customer in full. Customers are fully responsible for items left in their care. All items must be kept dry and free of rain and an indoor space must be available to move items inside and undercover if needed. Any loss/damage of items cause by rain will be payable by the customer.

 

Outstanding balance due 4 weeks prior to your event. If the event is less than 4 weeks away at time of booking then the total balance must be paid at the time of booking.

 

If the balance is unpaid after the due by date, it will be presumed that the booking is cancelled and it will be within the company’s rights to rebook the Hire item for another celebration. Your deposit will be lost.

 

The customer agrees to allow photographs taken by the staff of “Emerald Events Hire” to be used for promotional purposes.

 

Delivery and pick up of Emerald Events Hire items within Herts & Beds will incur a £45 delivery & collection charge. Any areas outside of Herts & Beds incurs a charge for petrol and additional travelling time. Prices on request. Collection after 10.30pm incurs a £50 surcharge. Latest collection time is midnight. Next day collection is available if agreed prior & is at no additional cost.

 

Breakage/Damage/Loss Deposit

 

On occasion a breakage/Lost items deposit is required on some items, payable on balance, which is refunded within 2-3 days of the event subject to there being no damage or loss to “Emerald Events Hire.

 

The deposit amount will be a % of the total hire value.

 

Complete loss or un-repairable damage, will result in additional replacement charges.

 

 

In addition to the above deposits:

 

Cancellation charges will apply: -
Any cancellation by customer for ANY reason – 100% of monies paid will be lost.
In the event of cancellation, any breakage deposit paid will be fully refunded in full.
In the very unlikely event that the booking is cancelled by “Emerald Events Hire” any payment received will be fully refunded.

 

Payment:

We accept cash, cheque & bank transfer. If the cheque does not clear your booking date will be given to another party.

 

Nut Allergies & Safety Warnings
Please note that some of the sweets may contain or have traces of nuts or nut oils; or may have been made alongside other products containing nuts. “Emerald Events Hire” cannot be held responsible for any issues resulting from food allergies. A file of all sweet ingredients and allergens will be attached to the cart for your information on request.

 

Safety is the responsibity of the hirer.

Customers should also ensure that children are suitably supervised to avoid sweets being chosen which would pose a choking risk. This is even more important for children aged under 5yrs. Similar care should also be taken to ensure children’s safety relating to plastic packaging to avoid any risk of suffocation. “Emerald Events Hire” can NOT be held responsible for safety issues which occur from the use of equipment, consumables or the consumption of confectionery left at the celebration location.

We ask that you do not relocate any item we have set up unless you have prior written permission by us.

The Light up LOVE letters due to size and weight are not to be sat on and children must be supervised around them at all times.

 

 

Portable Appliance Testing

All our electrical items are inspected periodically and are PAT tested annually. You can see a copy of our certificate on request.

 

Insurance

Our Insurance provides us cover to the value of:

£1,000,000 of Public & Product Liability Insurance

You can see a copy of our Insurance cover on request.

 

 

It is the customer’s/hirers responsibility to ensure that:

  1. Under no circumstances are hire items to be exposed to wet weather. An indoor alternative must be available.

  2. That you have checked with your chosen venue, that they allow external hire items on site.

  3. You liaise with the chosen venue prior to the event date and advise of a suitable set up & pick up time, mutually agreed.

  4. Guests are aware that hire items are NOT to be taken home under any circumstances. Any missing items will be payable by the customer in full.

  5. Any injury resulting from falling items does not render Emerald Events Hire liable.

  6. If high winds/rain are present on the day an indoor alternative must be used for safety.
